Traffic Control Dispatchers are responsible for always making an excellent first impression for all callers. As a dispatcher, you will answer incoming phone calls and carefully record details for service requests prior to coordinating with field operations to ensure the right crew is sent to the right call.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee work loads and job materials required for foreman and customers
  • Answer and direct incoming and outgoing phone calls in a timely manner
  • Handle all necessary coordination and communication regarding Traffic Control Requests
  • Greet and interview visitors and callers determining the nature of business and providing information requiring Traffic Control knowledge
  • Simplify procedures and implement cost reductions
  • Other duties as requested by management

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least 2 years in a fast paced, busy office as a receptionist or dispatcher
  • Professional dress and attitude is expected
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • General knowledge Traffic Control, and MUTCD
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Ability to understand and speak English
  • Strong diplomacy between customer and NBC
  • Deals with emergencies in a calm and controlled manor
  • Computer literate
  • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills
  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution
  • Good organizational skills and ability to demonstrate understanding of the NPL business model

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
