The successful candidate must be disciplined and well-organized with a strong bias toward timely, detailed performance against aggressive deadlines, as well as a self-starting multi-tasker who can accomplish all assignments without need of close supervision.  Relevant education may be a substitute for prior experience, as determined by V.P. & Chief Safety & Quality Officer.

Education, Skills, Experience Needed
  • Minimum Five years underground utility experience and accompanying knowledge of natural gas construction, trenching and PPE.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NPL Quality Standards, Customer Construction Standards and the correct implementation of those standards.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
  • Must be able to represent NPL in a professional manner, reflecting the NPL Core Values and Leadership Principles.
Working Environment
  • Work is performed in the field at construction sites; field work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or crouch for extended periods of time
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations and no DUIs within a two year rolling period
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
  • Work with a heightened awareness within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late when necessary
  • Ability to travel within the state routinely and out of state occasionally
