The Safety and Quality Auditor promotes and audits all aspects of the Safety and Quality program.  Safety and Quality are the two main priorities at NPL and we are looking for a new Safety and Quality Auditor to help our crew's keep working safe.

  • Guides field operation crews on continuous safety and quality development
  • Provides hands on safety and quality inspection, on-site job coaching and development
  • Provides training, on-site job coaching, and auditing for employees
  • Ensures all field operation crews are following all Safety & Quality, OSHA, PHMSA, EPA, etc.
  • Conduct internal quality control audits, maintain audit and safety reporting
  • Enforce company safety policies and customer construction standards
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Completed OSHA 10 and Competent Person Training
  • 3 years of underground utility construction experience; knowledge of underground utilities and locator markings, gas pipeline construction and replacement is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA and DOT regulations 
  • OSHA 500/510 and/or Board of Certified Safety Professionals Designations are preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking and writing is a plus

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment or in the field at construction sites or warehouses; field work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or crouch for extended periods of time
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds


  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations and no DUIs within a two year rolling period
  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
  • Work with a heightened awareness within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late when necessary
  • Ability to travel within the state routinely and out of state occasionally
